Rubiks Cube by David B

Have you ever played a Rubik’s Cube before or seen it? I will show you how you can solve one.  Step one: you need to know all of the part of the Rubik cube. The cube has 3 layers. It has 6 colors and sides.  R is right up and Ri is down right. L is up left and Li is down left. And U is top surface left also UI is top right surface. Next is F is the surface that is pointing at you that turn right. But FI is the same thing but it turns left. Step 2: you have to have a cross like a plus sign.  Next when you have the cross you have to get all 4 corners in the correct place. When you get the corners you will be done with the 1 layer. After that you need to get the second layer which is easier than the 1st layer. Next you need 1 last layer which is really hard. First you need to get the cross match the color. Next you need to get the corners.

Hint:  Look on YouTube for tips about

how to solve!

Tater Tot Grilled Cheese

Tater Tot Grilled Cheese

INGREDIENTS

*12 frozen tater tots, defrosted

*1/2 c. shredded Cheddar

*Cooking spray

DIRECTIONS

Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat and grease it with cooking spray.

Arrange 6 tater tots in a rectangle, side-by-side, on one side of the skillet. Repeat to make another rectangle with remaining tater tots on the other side of the skillet.

With a large spatula (preferably metal) press down hard on each tater tot rectangle to form a flat square patty. You may need to press down repeatedly to help the tater tots hold together. Cook until the bottom sides of the tater tots begin to crisp, about 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle each square with cheese (this helps everything stay together!) then cover the pan with a tight fitting lid and continue cooking the tater tots until the cheese is melted.

Use a spatula to carefully flip one cheesy square onto the other to form a sandwich. Press down again with the spatula and continue to cook the sandwich until both sides are crispy, about 3 minutes more.

No Uniforms in School!

Saya

I think that uniforms should be banned from the face of the Earth!

And I have three reasons to prove it!

Reason1: If you get your uniform dirty you’ll have to buy another one.

Reason2: They are really expensive like $50 or more.  I should know this because I use to go to a school that has uniforms.

Reason3: Kids like me wouldn’t be able to express their individuality.

I think I’ve proven that uniforms should be banned from the face of the Earth!

Entertainment: Past vs Future

By Jennifer

So before we had iPhones and tablets, we had toy trains and dolls. Since technology has become newer and better, companies have upgraded their games, now people play with iPhones and tablets. Mostly all the little kids play games on their tablets or phones which is crazy. In the past, little kids played with crayons or dolls or maybe also toy trains. Well that wasn’t fair for them because they didn’t have enough tools or technology to make a tablet or iPhone.

Interview with Mrs. Winslow

By Kamaile

Do you have a program specialist as cool as ours? Here are some questions I asked our program specialist, Mrs. Winslow. The first question I asked her was, “Do you like your job?” Her response was, “I really like my job a lot, I like helping kids succeed.” Right after that I asked her, “Is you job hard?” Come to find out she told me, “It is not hard, it has its challenges, however with each challenge comes many rewards.”

Knowing that running schools is a hard job I questioned her about wanting a better job. Here is how it went… “Do you wish you got a better job like a lawyer?” “I would never trade what I do.” Then I asked since she liked this school, if she could, would she become principal? “I don’t think so, right now I am happy to get the flexibility to teach.” When you are a program specialist, it is hard to handle your job I’m assuming, so I asked Mrs. Winslow, “Is your job fun?” “Yes, it is very fun.”

Knowing some kids want to be teachers or a principal when they grow up, the question I came up with is, “How long have you wanted this job?” She said, “I have considered this job for several years.” Last but definitely not least I asked, “Were you excited when you got this job?” She answered, “I was very excited to become a member of the Drewicz community.”

That’s why we have a cool program specialist named Mrs. Winslow at Drewicz School.

I think wolves are the most interesting!

By Saya

1.  Wolves do not make good guard dogs because they are naturally afraid of the unfamiliar, and will hide from visitors rather than bark at them.

2.  In order for a new wolf cub to urinate its mother has to massage its belly with her warm tongue.

3.  A wolf pup’s eyes are blue at birth. Their eyes turn yellow by the time they are 8 months old.

4.  A wolf can run about 20 miles (32 km)per hour, and up to 40 miles (56 km)per hour when necessary, but only for a minute or two. They can “dog trot” around 5 miles (8 km) per hour and can travel all day at this speed.

I hope I have convinced you that the wolf is the most interesting animal.
